The Next Chapter Has Just Begun

As I walked into the house this evening, I bounced a thought off of the side of the house and listened to the question that I posed to myself.

Sometimes, it's good to hear yourself talk to you out loud.

I asked myself, "What's holding you back?"

It wasn't my work ethic. (I'm always willing to work towards something important to me)
Not my resources. (I can get by on little)
Not the people around me. (I haven't been talking to many people up until these last few weeks)

It turns out that, when I look back, I work the hardest when I'm working for someone else. I'm not saying a boss. By far, no. I mean someone that's a constant in my own life. One that I hold in high personal esteem. I suppose it's the same difference between a man who works to support his family and one who works to makes sure he's got what he needs.

This is my truth as of the moment I'm typing this.

Today's blog is not purposed to challenge others, but for me to voice a challenge to my self.

Learning a little about myself by helping others...

I just posted this on a friend's wall:

HEY! QUIT BEING EMO!! Start getting picky with everything in your life and stop accepting sub-par anything. If you find that something is going wrong in your life, stop doing the same thing over and over again and change something. If that still doesn't work, change something else. Just because you're not succeeding doesn't mean you're failing. Every time you don't succeed, you have an opportunity to learn from what happened and better yourself. Got it?

I got most of the way through when I realized that it was also directed at myself. Things around you are destined to change. That's just what happens. The only constant in your own life is your own self. Once you realize this, you've opened the door to your own salvation. The people that move in and out of your life naturally influence your outlook. It's up to you to find your equilibrium. If you're always surrounded by other that distract you from what your own true goals are, you are only hindering yourself.

Your very own success counts on your ability to discern between what your true desires are and what those around you desire for you.

Introduction to Understanding

This is kinda late in the game, so bear with me as I'll probably skip a few steps along the way.

This is kind of a catalog of my personal growth over time. My goal is to gain a complete understanding of everything through understanding others and thus myself. My approach is not one based on preexisting classifications because classifications are a human effort to organize something that I believe is beyond us. Therefore, our all-encompassing words will always fall short of what the true idea is behind it. I will use labels, though, to ease the understanding of the ideas that I present.

For example: if an object is red, what kind of red is it? What's the difference between candy apple red and red? How much white can you add to red before it becomes pink? All of those answers have many possible answers that deffer based on the individual or groups of individuals.

I also want to let you know that if anyone disagrees with anything I post, let me know. What I put up here is my understanding based on the observation of others, so any input has the potential to completely turn the observation on its head. That is the nature of my study.

I guess what I'm leaning towards is the fact that we all exist on different planes in the same world based on our understanding of the connections of the people that surround us and are involved in any way in our lives. We also share and unseen connection that binds us all on an unearthly level. I suppose you can call it the the different parts of what folklore calls the Yggdrasil or you can call it Zen or Oneness or whatever helps you truly understand what I mean. There is an undeniable connection of the soul.
